BASHKIR PUBLIC AND CULTURAL CENTER NAMED AFTER ZAKI VALIDI OF TASHKENT CITY
Тhe Bashkir Public and Cultural Center named after Zaki Validi of Tashkent city is a voluntary public associ-ation which was established in June of 1990 with the objective to revive and develop culture, language and traditions of the Bashkirs.
Its members are not only Bashkirs. There are Tatars, Russians, Uzbeks, Azerbaijanis, and representatives of other nationalities residing in Uzbekistan. People long to the Center, participate in the organized by it events and become its activists. Members of the Center regularly speak on radio and television as well as in press. The TV program "lrendek" in the Bashkir language is very popular among the mem-bers of Bashkir diaspora. People knew a lot about participation of their representatives in the First and Second World Kurultais of the Bashkirs in Ufa. Annually the Bashkir Center celebrates the Commemoration day of the Bashkir national hero Salavat Yulaev, other memorable days. The Tatar-Bashkir cultural centers also deliver their activities in Bukhara, Kashkadarya, Navoi and Samar-kand provinces. |
