CRIMEAN TATARS NATIONAL CULTURAL CENTER "AVDET" OF TASHKENT CITY
Тhe year of 1944. is a special page in the life of the Crimean Tatars. People being charged unfairly and without grounds were deported from homelands, and their major part found themselves in Uzbekistan. In spite of the fact that the first years of deportation, in new climatic conditions and continued war environment were very difficult, the Crimean Tatars found full understanding with the Uzbek people.
The Crimean Tatar people were always dreaming to get back to their historical motherland, and after rehabilitation in 1967 they started gradual return to the Crimea, in 1980s it gained mass effect. The Crimean Tatars, who stayed in Uzbekistan, started to commu-nicate more with each other, and their aspiration to preserve their language, traditions and customs in the distance from their motherland increased. That was the very reason why in 1997 the Tashkent Crimean Tatar national cultural center "Avdet" (return) was established. A lot was done during the last years. These were memorial meetings devoted to prominent figures in literature and art, other noble people from the diaspora, concerts of ensembles "Yalta", "Vetan", "Khaytarma" and "Karanfil", different art exhibitions, and the most important - studying of the native language. The cinema group "Kyrymlylar", which has been set by the Center, works successfully. It has already shot four video films about the life of famous Crimean Tatars in Uzbekistan. |
