GEORGIAN CULTURAL CENTER "MEGOBROBA" OF TASHKENT CITY
The Georgian cultural center "Megobroba" (friendship) was set up in Tashkent on July of 1994.
One can enumerate many actions undertaken by the Center. These are exhibitions of Georgian artists and meetings of Georgia and Uzbekistan women under the slogan "Women of the Silk Route for Peace and Indepen-dence in the Worlds, establishing of the school for stu-dying the Georgian language, Days of Georgian feature films, concerts by popular artists Nani Bregvadze, Soso Pavliashvili, folklore ensemble "Loshari", presentation of the book "Amir Temur in the Mirror of World Sciences by E. Rtveladze and A. Saidov, publishing of brochures by G.Gogua "From the History of Georgian-Uzbek Rela-tions in Science and Cultures, "Uzbekistan-Georgia. Tree of Friendships, meetings of veterans of World War II, commemoration repasts, annual international "sambo" tournament dedicated to the memory of famous countrymen - masters of sports Soso Gognadze and Revkat Rezvanov. All activities are arranged in close cooperation with other national cultural centers, governmental and public organizations of the republic. At present a new building is constructed for the Cen-ter where in the nearest future it would be comfortable to receive guests. |
