REPUBLICAN TURKMEN CULTURAL CENTER

Тhe Turkmen people, for many centuries living as neighbours to the Uzbek people, have the same language group, common historical and spiritual wealth; the nation nevertheless strives for keeping originality of its traditions, language and culture. This has predetermined in many respects the creation of the Turkmen national cultutal centers with proclaiming of Independence of Uzbekistan.
The first Turkmen cultural center was opened in Bukhara province, afterwards they appeared in Karakalpakstan, Tashkent city, Surkhandarya and Tashkent provinces. The Republican Turkmen Cultural Center was registered by the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan in February of 2001.
The Center has an extensive experience in work-ing with the population, and today it successfully accomplishes its activities. Monthly paper "Aidyn Yol" is published in Karakalpakstan, and music dancing ensemble "Оrzu" is functioning.
Exhibitions, which are organized by the Center, are very popular. They promoteVurkmen art and daily life, famous Turkmen carpets and carpet articles, paintings by Turkmen artists.
