RUSSIAN CULTURAL CENTER OF THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN
The Russian Cultural Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan was established in 1994. In Tashkent it was one of the first centers, in its establishment and activities participated representatives of different nationalities. Love for Russian culture, wish to study traditions and customs of the Russian people united science, education and art people. Today this Center is one of the largest and the most active public organizations in the republic. The Center's branches were established almost in all regions of Uzbekistan, and this provides an opportunity for all who wish to participate in their work.
To cover its activities the Russian Cultural Center publishes a monthly bulletin "Russian Cultural Center Vestnik". It also publishes quarterly magazine "Chronograph", poetical anthology "Under the Wing of Pegasus", collections of reports at scientific conferences, popular scientific materials on history and culture. The work of the Russian center is regularly covered in the Republican media. Friendly and business cooperation was established between the Center and the Embassy of Rus-sian Federation, the friendship society "Uzbekistan Russia", "Roszarubezhcenter", the association "Rus-sian Business Centers. Thanks to the Russian Cultural Center it has become traditional for representatives of the diaspora to celebrate such national holidays, cust6*hs^and ceremonies of the Russian people as Pancake Week, Christmas, Easter Evenings, Days of Slavic Written Language and Culture. It is without fail that other national cultural centers are invited to all the events of the Russian Cultural Center. Many artistic groups of professional and amateur artists take part in the work of the Center from its very beginning. Voca! studio "Orpheus", choir "Veteran", dancing group "Kalinushka" and many others work successfully within the Center. The Museum of Anna Akhmatova "Mangalochiy Dvorik" was opened in 1999; at this museum there is a Club of Poetry and Music by V.Vysotskiy, the poet club "Danko", Esenin's Society "Radunitsa", the literary association "Under the Wing of Pegasus", the club of bibliophiles "ln the World of Beauty", the fiterature guest-room "Silver Century". |
