UIGUR NATIONAL CULTURAL CENTER OF UZBEKISTAN

Тhe Uigur National Cultural Center of Uzbekistan was established in 1989 in Tashkent.
The start of its activities is connected with the name of H.R. Khudaiberdiyev, the Honored Worker of Culture of Uzbekistan who created famous in Uzbekistan the Uigur ensemble. He directed the work of the Center to the course of study and promotion of national heritage of the Uigur people - language, culture including song and dancing art, folklore and national cuisine. With time new ensembles were organized. Meetings with prominent people of Uigur intelligentsia have become traditional.
Today the Center's structure includes district centers of Tashkent city, centers established in shirkats named after Yu. Akhunbabayev in Tashkent district and Kim Pen Hva in Yukorichirchik district of Tashkent province, as well as Andijan and Syrdarya centers.
Now the Center works to issue the book about the Uigurs in Uzbekistan, it will narrate about the history and culture, literature and art, traditions and customs of the Uigur people and their contribution to the economic and cultural development of Uzbekistan.
